Bing Wang, Swift Current Mall
As I seek to join the Board of Directors of Swift Current & District Chamber of Commerce, I present my profile for your consideration, encapsulating my unique value. Three key aspects underpin my candidacy:
Significant Financial Investments in Saskatchewan: I represent a coalition of investors from Vancouver who personally have made substantial investments in real estate and related sectors within Saskatchewan. Our collective portfolio in the region exceeds $100 million in assets invested from my friends’ personal fund, underscoring our deep financial commitment and belief in Saskatchewan’s economic potential.
Active Promotion of Saskatchewan Investments: My efforts are continually geared towards soliciting business and investments for Saskatchewan. This endeavor has proven particularly influential within the Chinese community. By showcasing our investments as a successful model, we have garnered trust and influenced others to consider Saskatchewan as a viable and attractive investment destination. Our approach has generated leads that rely on us for insightful and trustworthy investment advice.
Bringing Fresh Perspectives and Strengthening Connections: Residing outside Saskatchewan and travelling to the city monthly positions me uniquely to offer fresh insights and perspectives to the board. My regular commutes and connections in Vancouver are instrumental in highlighting Saskatchewan’s potential to a broader audience. These efforts aim to bridge the communities and foster economic ties between Vancouver and Saskatchewan.
In summary, my background in investment, active role in promoting Saskatchewan’s economic interests, and ability to offer new perspectives and connections make me a strong candidate for the Chamber of Commerce. I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to contribute my experience and insights towards fostering a vibrant and growing economy in the Saskatchewan province. Over the past sixteen years, I have carved a niche for myself in the corporate sector as a management professional. My career, marked by a robust record of delivering financial and business services, has been a learning, leading, and innovating journey. I take pride in my proven ability to analyze data, manage projects, and excel in a financial planning, analysis, and forecasting. These skills have not just been a part of my job; they’ve been essential in shaping my approach to business.
My tenure of over fourteen years and the Regional Finance Director and Corporate Controller and the world’s largest PR firm has been more than a role. It has been an opportunity to deepen my expertise and refine my skills in the corporate arena. Equipped with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and the CGA designation, a legacy association of CPA, I’ve been able to blend academic knowledge with practical experience.
In my journey, I’ve focused not just on leading but also on innovating. I am passionate about introducing and implementing process improvements that streamline workflows and enhance cost efficiency. This approach, combining strategic thinking with a deep understanding of business, has consistently led to impactful results in the organizations I’ve been part of.

My unique blend of strategic expertise and operational prowess has been my guiding principle in helping companies to navigate and succeed in the complex corporate world. For me, it’s about mastering the art of corporate leadership and assisting others to do the same.
As an accomplished professional with over sixteen years in corporate leadership, I am excited to bring my diverse experience to the Chamber of Commerce board. My journey across various sectors has equipped me with unique insights and skills that align perfectly with the Chamber’s core functions and objectives.

Joel Schultz, Trattoria Raccolto
Hi, my name is Joel Schultz. I am 33 years old with my wonderful wife, Savannah Schultz, by my side, with whom together we have two beautiful kids, Beau (age 6), and Bostynn (age 3). I am the proud owner and operational manager of Automotive Unlimited, and I’m also an active shareholder and partner in Trattoria Raccolto Restaurant, both located here in Swift Current.
Growing up, I lived in the small town of Strasbourg, Saskatchewan. In 2013 I acquired my red seal in automotive repair through SIAST and made the move to Swift Current for a job opportunity as an automotive technician at a dealership here in Swift. After a few years in the trade, I decided to lay down my roots and take a leap of faith in starting my own repair shop. Automotive Unlimited began as a one-man operation in 2016 in a small building doing work for friends and family. Word of mouth travelled quickly, and we have since continued to grow and expand in the industry with Swift Current and beyond.
Fast forward to 2025, we’ve been in business 9 years, we’ve moved into a larger and more central location, and we currently employ 7 other staff members including both heavy duty truck and transport technicians and light duty automotive technicians to help us meet our customer needs.
In early 2024, my wife and I teamed up with a small group of successful southwest Saskatchewan entrepreneurs to bring a Saskatchewan made, Italian inspired, farm-to-table restaurant to Swift Current called Trattoria Raccolto. Although we have been open only 6 months, the enthusiasm, excitement, and support we’ve received from our community has been nothing short of amazing. We look forward to what the future may bring with this opportunity as well.
I am very excited to be considered as a candidate for the swift current chamber. I have found that what the chamber does for our businesses and community members is something that I would love to be apart of. I believe with the forward-thinking mentality that the chamber has it allows us to create healthy business growth within our community. This is something I believe is needed in swift current for this community to grow in the right direction. I do love this community and I’m hoping that if I’m chosen I can ad value to your team.
Landin Smith, Standard Dodge
Hello! My name is Landin Smith, and I am happily married and am the father of two (mostly) awesome kids. Swift Current has been my home for the majority of my life. The six years of my life living outside of Swift Current were spent obtaining a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and entering into the workforce. Throughout those years, the anticipation to return to Swift Current was felt daily!
In my childhood I was raised in a farming family who lived in the city. The farm is a 5 minute drive from the house I had grown up in, so growing up I had the pleasure of learning a hard work ethic while getting to adventure the bike paths of Swift Current with friends. Swift Current is somewhere that I value deeply for the kindness of its people, the generosity of businesses toward the community and a wonderful place to raise a family.
Within my professional career I had spent nearly 12 years in the Agriculture industry working for Pattison Agriculture (formerly JayDee AgTech) and the past two and a half years working in the Automotive industry for Plewis Automotive Group (Standard Dodge). During the tenure in each of these industries, the adversity in both market highs and lows offered excellent learning opportunities in both business settings. It has been a tremendous opportunity to work closely with rural farmers/businesses and to now work with the general “driving” public. The role(s) held in these industries have been Sales (8.5 years) and Multi-department General Management (6 years). Some of the learned skills in the past decade have been financial literacy and observation, negotiation, people management skills, customer relations/satisfaction and rebuilding culture.
My current role within the community consists of being the General Manager of Standard Dodge as well as routinely volunteering for Meals on Wheels through the Saskatchewan Health Authority. I enjoy golfing, lake activities, and spending time with family and friends. The motivation to be elected to the board of the Chamber of Commerce is to increase awareness/offering for local business through the Chamber. This will be done through affiliated connection to the public/other businesses as well as discovery of new avenues to promote. Working in a professional setting whether it is a career setting or a board setting is something I am passionate about. I hope to bring skills and new ideas to the board and assist alongside the existing professionals and administrators of this board!
