Nathan Stang, Fieldstone Energy
In 2013 I was provided the opportunity to relocate to Swift Current and manage a corporate contracting company that provided me with extensive experience in business operations, leadership, and strategic decision-making. This role was instrumental in developing my professional career and strengthening my understanding of workforce management, financial responsibility, and community-based business operations.
Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to contribute more directly to our local economy, I co-founded Fieldstone Energy in 2022 which has since grown to employ nearly 20 individuals from Swift Current and the surrounding areas. Building a locally focused business has reinforced my commitment to economic development, job creation, and supporting the skilled workforce within our community.
Swift Current has been an important place for my family and for my professional growth. I place a high value on community involvement and collaboration, and I believe as business leaders that it is our responsibility is to give back to the community that supports us. I have a strong background in community engagement and have been an active member since moving here in 2013. From 2018 to 2022, I served as Chair for the annual Gutsy Walk for Crohn’s and Colitis in Swift Current. In this role, I worked closely with volunteers, local businesses, and the community to plan and deliver a successful annual event. During my tenure, we successfully raised over $150,000 for this worthy cause, but more importantly, we created a platform that brought people together with a shared sense of purpose.
Through my business leadership and different types of community service, I have gained a strong appreciation for the role that commerce, collaboration, and volunteer leadership play in building a thriving community. I would welcome the opportunity, and am eager to bring this same energy, operational expertise, and passion for community to this Board, ensuring Swift Current remains a vibrant place for our families and businesses to grow.
