Chamber of Commerce Offers Support for Schools of Opportunity

(S.C.C.C.), today announced the offering of assistance to communities who are submitting a proposal to the Minister of Education that states they believe the school will be one of opportunity. On July 11, 2008, the Saskatchewan Gazette issued their weekly publication which contained revised regulations of Saskatchewan in the Education Amendment Regulations, 2008 and the newly developed Schools of Opportunity review process and criteria.

$250 Million Towards Long Term Debt

(S.C.C.C.), is pleased that the budget addresses the surplus of the general revenue fund (GRF) with the direction of $250 million towards the long term debt. Additionally, a capital fund of $1 billion is committed towards infrastructure which includes over $500 million for upgrades to economic corridors. These enhancements have two parts: first, the twinning of highways #1, #11 and #16 and second, upgrades to the rural road systems and TMS.
