Fastenal Canada serves local industries in the construction, manufacturing, and farming community with their general fastener needs, be it nuts, bolts, washers, screws, abrasives, power tools and more... they will have it. Fastenal aims to provide better service to the local customers previously being serviced from other major cities.


Hockey Performance Center


The Hockey Performance Centre was opened about a year and half ago by Scott and Michelle Taylor. There are training programs for children as young as five years old to adult rec hockey players. Programs range from young athletes wanting to learn the basics of skating, puck handling and shooting, to high end athletes training hard to make it to the next level. They have trained kids from the Timbits hockey level right up to current WHL, NHL, European Pro League and Canada’s National Women’s Team.


Sure – Fit Denture Clinic


Sure – Fit Denture Clinic was established in July of 2008 to offer patients in the southwest a choice they never had before, premium dentures fabricated using industry leading techniques and materials. Mike Whitney says, “Listening to the patient, educating the patient, and providing the most professional service I can, has resulted in early success and continued excellence.”


Swift Current Laundry Basket


Owners Richard and Joyce Luker began their business venture in 2006 as the Owners/operators of the Swift Current Laundry Basket. Providing self service, drop offs, pick-ups, delivery and dry cleaning for both community and commercial clients, they more recently in July of 2008 they expanded into the dry cleaning business to accommodate cleaning wedding dresses, leather and suede clothing. A Sani Sport Machine was acquired in September of 2008 for sports equipment including hockey helmets, skates and bowling shoes etc.


The Brick Warehouse (Kesslar/Jackson Furniture Ltd.)


In March 2008 The Brick opened their doors in Swift Current. The Brick says, “We have recognized that the entire southwest corner of Saskatchewan is indeed an integral part of our success in this city. The people of Southwest Saskatchewan and in particular Swift Current have helped us achieve and exceed our first year goals and will help us within the province of Saskatchewan.”


The Dance Studio


The Dance Studio opened on July 2008 and offers a warm, friendly and professional environment where children and adults can come to learn a variety of dance disciplines from Ballet and Highland to Jazz, Tap and Musical Theatre. Classes are offered to anyone over the age of three who is interested in learning how to dance. Several of the students performed at the annual Robbie Burns night and a year end recital is scheduled in June at the Sky Center.

Curvalicious opened its doors in November of 2008 and is owned and operated by Tina Helgason who is a long time resident of Swift Current. Tina decided to start the store to help fill the need for Curvy Women and is constantly searching for new styles reflecting ‘fun and fresh’. Tina tries to get her clients to smile, while providing a fun place to find fashions that help you embrace your curves.


Intricate Networks


Preston Lord started Intricate Networks in 2005 and now operates as General Manager. Their success is due to an undying optimism for finding solutions that fit the client’s needs. His entrepreneurial spirit noticed many opportunities within the grain industry and started to build relationship while at the same time building INET. The vision for the future is to be the solutions company of choice, with consideration to be given to offices in other cities as they grow.

Sure - Fit Denture Clinic offers hands on service starting with full impressions for new dentures, or providing services for already fabricated cases. The Dance Studio


Melissa Wallace is very pleased about the business’ first year - “already her goals for starting up the business have been surpassed.” The promise of the new year to start in September is already very exciting with many students interested in returning to their regular classes as well a attempting different types. Next year Wallace states she would like to have students performing at different venues, encourage more students to further their education by participating in dance exams, and interest more people in discovering the enjoyment of participating in a dance class.

Austin’s Courier Services


Austin’s Courier Motto is “Our business is picking up.” Scott Whitell purchased the business in 1980 and operated one cargo van while running the office in his parent’s basement. Austin’s Courier has grown under Scott’s leadership and management style, currently employing a staff of 12. After 29 years in business 2008 saw changes to the face of operations with renovated offices and construction of a new warehouse.


Buffalo Brew Pub


Buffalo Brew Pub opened its doors in 1997. In 2007, they relocated to a new location, the former liquor board store. Extensive renovations included: lounge, seating capacity for up to 100 people, new kitchen to accommodate restaurant & catering services, off sale beer, wine & spirits as well as a new state of the art brewing equipment. In 2008, the Buffalo Brew Pub has grown substantially in terms of staffing, services & revenue.


Intricate Networks


Intricate Networks was started in 2005 by Preston Lord and South West Terminal to simply provide in-house computer support and training to the staff. In 2007, after realizing the potential for website development, custom software programming and network support, Intricate Networks planned to move to Swift Current in 2008 breaking away from the shelter of South West Terminal. With clients in The Netherlands, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, our goal is to grow at a sustainable and profitable rate and position ourselves as a premier network support and hosting company.

Austin’s Courier Services


Initially a single van operated service between Swift Current and Regina and now; have a semi-tractor unit which provides this service. Numerous semi-tractor units and cube trucks now provide various services for our Southwest Saskatchewan customers. Austin’s provide dedicated and hot shot services for and on behalf of their Southwest customers and continues to offer an expanded line of services and are dedicated to maintaining a high standard of customer service.


Chaplin Grain Corp


Chaplin Grain Corporation was formed in 2004. In 2005, Chaplin Grain Corp. decided to pursue the niche market of catering to organic grain producers. The corporation expanded in 2007 with the purchase of an additional elevator in Gull Lake and more storage bins to meet the ever-growing demand for organic crops.


Heartland Livestock Services


Heartland Livestock has been serving Southwest Saskatchewan since 1954 and boasts the largest cattle market by volume in Saskatchewan with over 120,000 head per year and hosting 20 purebred sales per year. Heartland’s local customer base consists of approximately 16,000 producers within a 200 mile radius of Swift Current. Lee Crowley, General Manager says, “Excellence, dedication and leadership: that’s what we are all about over our 50 year history in the Southwest.”


Koncrete Construction Group


Koncrete Construction Groups’ primary business is oil and gas servicing, gravel crushing, concrete supplies and general maintenance, and construction work. Chaplin Grain Corp was formed in 2004 when they decided to pursue the niche market of catering to organic grain producers.
